How to use the D2D storage and deduplication ratio reporting metrics D2D appliances with software at version 1.0.0 and 2.0.0 and later provide more detailed storage reporting and deduplication ratio metrics on the Web Management Interface. These will indicate the storage and deduplication ratio for the overall appliance and on a per library and NAS share basis. The storage and deduplication ratio variation over a week and a month can also be displayed. Below are some example Web Management Interface screenshots showing the type of information available. One use of this information is as an aid when tuning the appliance for best practice. The user will be able to see how different data sources will deduplicate and how changes in backup application configuration, for example, might improve the deduplication ratio achieved.
