Configuring the OmniBook Using BIOS Setup Security Menu Setting Description Default User Password Is Shows if a user password is set. Clear Administrator Password Is Shows if an administrator password is set. Clear Set User Password Press ENTER to set, change, or clear user password. Password length can be no longer than 8 characters, 0-9, AZ, and cannot include special or accented characters. Set Administrator Password Press ENTER to set, change, or clear administrator password. This password protects BIOS Setup settings. Password length can be no longer than 8 characters, 0-9, AZ, and cannot include special or accented characters. Smart Card Security Available only if a smart card accessory is installed. Sets whether the password is read from a smart card instead of entered from the keyboard. Disabled Boot Sets whether a user password is required when the computer boots. Enabled Resume* Sets whether a user password is required when resuming from a suspended state. This setting is ignored when Windows 2000 is running. Enabled Undock* Sets whether a user password is required when undocking the OmniBook. This setting is ignored when Windows 2000 is running. Disabled Internal Hard Disk Drive Lock* Encodes the current user password (or administrator password if that is the only password set) on the hard disk drive. Disabled Removable Device Boot Sets whether the floppy drive or other removable device is a boot device. Enabled * Resume, Undock, and Internal Hard Disk Drive Lock options are available only if Boot option is enabled. Reference Guide 89
