SD Card reader board NOTE: The SD Card reader board does not include the SD Card reader board cable. The SD Card reader board cable is included in the Cable Kit, spare part number 665593-001. Description SD Card reader board Spare part number 665602-001 Before removing the SD Card reader board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 47), and then remove the following components: ● Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 48) ● Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 51) ● Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 59) ● Top cover (see Top cover on page 62) Remove the SD Card reader board and cable: 1. Release the ZIF connector to which the SD Card reader board cable is connected, and then disconnect the SD Card reader board cable (1) from the system board. 2. Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws (2) that secure the SD Card reader board to the base enclosure. 72 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures

Before removing the SD Card reader board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery
on page
47
), and then remove the following components:

●

Top cover (see

Remove the SD Card reader board and cable:
1.
Release the ZIF connector to which the SD Card reader board cable is connected, and then
disconnect the SD Card reader board cable
(1)
from the system board.
2.
Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws
(2)
that secure the SD Card reader board to the
base enclosure.
