Volume board, Disconnect the middle cable from the ZIF connector

Volume board Description Volume board (includes cable) Spare part number 732282-001 Before removing the volume board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Disconnect the tablet from the keyboard dock (see Releasing the tablet from the keyboard dock on page 32). 5. Remove the display rear cover (see Display rear cover on page 45). 6. Disconnect the battery cable (see Battery cable on page 46). To remove the volume board: 1. Disconnect the cable that connects to the side of the volume board (1). 2. Disconnect the middle cable from the ZIF connector (2). 3. Use a flat tool to pry the volume board up and loosen the adhesive that secures it to the tablet (3), and then remove the volume board (4) from the tablet. Before removing the volume board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn

3.

4.

5.
Remove the display rear cover (see

6.
Disconnect the battery cable (see

).
To remove the volume board:
1.
Disconnect the cable that connects to the side of the volume board

2.
Disconnect the middle cable from the ZIF connector

3.
Use a flat tool to pry the volume board up and loosen the adhesive that secures it to the tablet

then remove the volume board

from the tablet.
Reverse this procedure to install the volume board.
