NOTE removing and replacing hardware parts removing, replacing and upgrading memory removing and replacing a memory module 1. Switch off the display and workstation. Disconnect all power cables and any LAN or telecommunications cables. 2. Remove the workstation's cover (refer to page 142 for instructions). To ease installation, place the workstation on its side with the system board facing upwards. You should place you workstation on a soft surface to avoid scratching the workstation's side cover. 3. If you are removing a memory module, you need to press down on the memory slot's retainer clips and lift the module out of its memory slot. See Figure 6-8. Always store any removed memory or module in a safe place for future use. To replace or install a memory module, reverse the procedure. Note, when installing a memory module, that the module is keyed and can only be inserted in one direction. If you are removing or replacing/installing memory in memory slot 1, you may need to remove the AGP card from its slot. removing and replacing a memory module

Remove the workstation’s cover (refer to page 142 for instructions).
