v If you plan to use a RAID adapter to control internal hot-swap hard disk drives, disconnect the SCSI cable from the SCSI backplane signal connector (SCSI1) on the system board and connect it to the RAID adapter. The following illustration shows the cable routing if you are installing the RAID adapter in PCI-X slot 1. See the documentation that comes with the RAID adapter for any additional cabling instructions. That documentation also provides information about installing the RAID software and configuring the RAID adapter.
