Ⅵ Encoding Method This device can use three types of encoders (JPEG/H.264/MPEG-4) and each of the following item settings can be set. JPEG Encoding display Framesize Framerate Image quality When the Encoder No. is set to JPEG, the settings items are as follows. JPEG Select the JPEG Framesize. The selectable options change depending on what is selected for the aspect ratio. [Aspect ratio 16:9 settings values: 1920x1080, 1280x720, 640x360] [Aspect radio 4:3 settings values: 1280x960, 640x480, 320x240] Select the Framerate. [Set values: 30 fps (JPEG cannot be set when Framesize is 1920x1080), 15 fps, 10 fps, 7.5 fps, 5 fps, 3 fps, 2 fps, 1 fps] Select JPEG quality (encoding compression method) and image quality level. The reference values for image file size per frame are displayed to the right of [Image quality level]. AFS : Encoded so that the average size of multiple JPEGs matches the target file size. VFS : The quantization table during JPEG encoding will be maintained, and the file size will be increased or decreased according to the input signals. When the JPEG is recorded to a recorder with limited storage capacity, since the file size will be increase or decrease, the greatest amount of time for recording will also vary. [Set values: AFS, VFS] Image quality level : As the numerical values of the levels decrease, the file size and image quality increase. [Set values: Level 1 to Level 3 to Level 7] Memo: ● The relationship between the combination of Framesize and image quality level and the file size per frame is displayed in the chart below. JPEG
Framesize
Select the JPEG Framesize.
The selectable options change depending on what is selected for the
aspect ratio.
[Aspect ratio 16:9 settings values:
1920x1080, 1280x720, 640x360
]
[Aspect radio 4:3 settings values:
1280x960, 640x480, 320x240
]
Framerate
Select the Framerate.
[Set values:
30 fps (JPEG cannot be set when Framesize is
1920x1080), 15 fps, 10 fps, 7.5 fps, 5 fps, 3 fps, 2 fps,

Image quality
Select JPEG quality (encoding compression method) and image quality
level. The reference values for image file size per frame are displayed to
the right of [Image quality level].
AFS
:
Encoded so that the average size of multiple JPEGs matches the
target file size.
VFS
:
The quantization table during JPEG encoding will be maintained,
and the file size will be increased or decreased according to the
input signals.
When the JPEG is recorded to a recorder with limited storage
capacity, since the file size will be increase or decrease, the
greatest amount of time for recording will also vary.
