5055-xxx Delivery After completing the fusing process, paper is discharged from the printer. The delivery sensor detects the paper condition and the FU/FD deflector switches between the face-up and face-down paper delivery. The paper from the fuser pulls down the sensing lever turning on the delivery sensor (photo interrupter). If the delivery unit remains on longer than specified, the printer controller determines that the printer is jammed, and the paper delivery flap lever switches to either face down or face up.
