4077-001 Test Page This test prints the test page. To run a complete test page of black and color patterns, be sure the print cartridges are in good condition. Install a black print cartridge in the left side of the printhead cradle and a color print cartridge in the right side. To enter the test press the on/off button five times allowing one second between each press. Pages continue to print until you turn off the power or unplug the printer. The first line of this test page is the code level and code level date. The next line is the black print cartridge nozzle pattern. The next three lines are the purge pattern where all nozzles are printing. This action cleans (purges) the nozzles. Another nozzle test pattern follows. These patterns are then repeated for the color cartridge. These test patterns are used to verify all print cartridge nozzles are working. There should be no breaks in the diagonal line. A break in the diagonal line indicates one or more nozzles are not working. The next patterns to print are the vertical and horizontal alignment test patterns used to align the black printhead to the color printhead. The user performs this alignment after changing a print cartridge. 19
