An example of how to place your speakers for optimal performance is also included. Speaker Placement An example of how to place your speakers and optional subwoofer for optimal audio performance is shown in Figure 12: Figure 12 Example of speaker placement Right surround speaker Left surround speaker Right Center front speaker speaker Left front speaker Subwoofer For ideal listening, the front and center speakers should be at the same height. Position the front speakers on both sides of the TV at equal distances from the TV. Position the center speaker on top or below the TV set. Do not place the center speaker farther away from the listening position then the front speakers. Position the rear speakers beside or slightly behind your viewing position. If the rear speakers are placed on the floor, they should be angled up towards the ceiling. The subwoofer should be placed in a corner or, if that is not possible, against a wall. The DCP501 should be placed on a dry, smooth, flat surface. Any obstructions that could interfere with the free flow of air over, under, or around the DCP501 should be removed. example of how to place your speakers for optimal performance is also included.
