NETGEAR 8800 User Manual Note: An XCM8800 core image (.xos file) must be downloaded and installed on the alternate (non-active) partition. If a user tries to download to an active partition, the error message "Error: Image can only be installed to the non-active partition." is displayed. An XCM8800 modular software package (.xmod file) can still be downloaded and installed on either the active or alternate partition. You can identify the appropriate image or module for your platform based on the filename of the image. Table 76 lists the filename prefixes for each platform. Table 76.
