Menu Guide-Custom Settings Custom Setting 22: Monitor Off This option controls how long the monitor remains 22 Monitor off on when no operations are performed: 10 s, 20 s 10s 10 s (the default option), 1 minute, 5 minutes, or 10 20s 20 s OK minutes. Highlight Monitor off in the detailed 1M 1 min CSM menu ( 135) and press the multi selector 5M 5 min to the right. Press the multi selector up or down ? 10M 10 min to highlight an option, then press to the right to make a selection. Choose a shorter monitor-off delay for longer battery life. Custom Setting 23: Meter-Off This option controls how long the camera con- 23 Meter-off tinues to meter exposure when no operations 4s 4 s are performed: 4 s, 6 s (the default option), 8 s, 6s 6 s OK 16 s, or 30 minutes. Highlight Meter-off in the 8s 8 s detailed CSM menu ( 135) and press the multi 16s 16 s selector to the right. Press the multi selector up ? 30M 30 min or down to highlight an option, then press to the right to make a selection. Choose a shorter me- ter-off delay for longer battery life. Custom Setting 24: Self-Timer This option controls the length of the shutter- 24 Self-timer release delay in self-timer mode. Shutter-release 2s 2 s can be delayed by approximately 2 s, 5 s, 10 s, (the default option), or 20 s. Highlight Self-timer in the detailed CSM menu ( 135) and press the 5s 5 s 10s 10 s OK multi selector to the right. Press the multi selector ? 20s20 s up or down to highlight an option, then press to the right to make a selection. The EH-5 AC Adapter When the camera is powered by an optional EH-5 AC adapter, exposure meters will not turn off and the monitor will only power off after ten minutes, regardless of the options chosen for Custom Settings 22 (Monitor off) and 23 (Meter-off). 153
