8.4 Playing Back Movie / Music / Photo from DLNA Certified Home Media Servers On this unit, you can play movie, music and photo files stored on DLNA certified home media servers connected to your home network. In order to use this feature, you must connect this unit to the Internet. • For details, refer to the user manual of the DLNA certified device. 1. Connect this unit to the Internet. • Refer to "Connection to the Network" on page 21. 2. Set up the necessary network connection settings. • Refer to "Network Connection" on page 42. 3. Start DLNA home media servers in your home network. 4. Press [HOME ]. 5. Use to select "Home Network", then press [ENTER]. • This unit will start loading the home server list. • To cancel loading, press [Ê (stop)]. • To reload the home server list, press [D]. • To go back to the root directory, press [TOP MENU]. 6. After loading, home server list will appear. Select a home server you want to access, then press [ENTER]. 7. File list of the selected home server will appear. Select a file you want to play back, then press [B (play)] or [ENTER] to start playback. • If you select a folder, select a file in the folder and then press [B (play)] or [ENTER] to start playback. Button G (skip) Action For movie files, playback will be step by step in pause mode. ∫ (forward) ¢ (reverse) Δ (pause) B (play) During playback, press to fast reverse/ forward the playback. Pause the playback. Return to the normal playback. Ê (stop) Stop the playback. (For movie files, playback will be in Resume-On-Stop mode.) Resume-On-Stop mode for movie files Playback will start from the point where it is stopped next time you press [B (play)]. If you press [ENTER] instead of [B (play)], playback will start from the beginning of the file instead of resuming from the stop point. D Note • For the home server list, maximum of 10 servers can be displayed. • The system can recognize up to 9,999 files (including folders). • The 10th and deeper hierarchies cannot be displayed. • This unit supports following formats. (Formats other than listed below cannot be recognized.) - Movie : MPEG 1, MPEG 2 PS, MPEG 2 TS / TTS - Music : LPCM, MP3, WMA - Photo : JPEG • Unplayable files in the home server will not be displayed in the file list. • For some files, playback is not available even if displayed in the file list. • In order to play back the contents in the home servers, the player and the servers must be connected to the same access point. • Compatibility and available playback function may differ depending on the home server. • If you select a photo file in step 7 on page 29, the selected file will be played back and go to the next file in the current hierarchy in turn every 10 seconds. • For photo files, every press of [Í / Æ] will turn the image by 90 degrees when an image is displayed. • The quality of the playback picture or audio differs depending on your network condition. • It will take a while for loading when going to the other hierarchy. • For some files on DLNA home server, [Δ (pause)] may not function during playback. Playing Back Movie / Music / Photo
from DLNA Certified Home Media
Servers
On this unit, you can play movie, music and photo files
stored on DLNA certified home media servers connected
to your home network. In order to use this feature, you
must connect this unit to the Internet.
For details, refer to the user manual of the DLNA
certified device.

Connect this unit to the Internet.

Set up the necessary network connection settings.

Start DLNA home media servers in your home
network.
