Please dispose of any materials in accordance with your local recycling regulations. • Batteries should never be thrown away or incinerated but disposed of in accordance with your local regulations concerning chemical wastes. Copyright • It is forbidden by law to copy, broadcast, show, broadcast on cable, play in public, or rent copyrighted material without permission. Commercial BD-video/ DVD-video discs are copy-protected, and any recordings made from these discs will be distorted. This item incorporates copy protection technology that is protected by U.S. patents and other intellectual property rights of Rovi Corporation. Reverse engineering and disassembly are prohibited. Note about AC cord • Use only the supplied AC cord. • Do not use the supplied AC cord to other units. ɶ Maintenance Servicing • Please refer to relevant topics on "TROUBLESHOOTING" on page 49 before returning the product. • If this unit becomes inoperative, do not try to correct the problem by yourself. There are no userserviceable parts inside. Turn the unit to the standby mode, unplug the power plug, and contact your Onkyo dealer. Disc handling • For best results, keep your discs clean. Fingerprints and dust can affect the sound and picture quality and should be removed as follows. Using a clean, soft cloth, wipe from the center outwards, as shown. Never wipe in a circular direction. • To remove stubborn dust or dirt, wipe the disc with a damp, soft cloth, and then dry it with a dry cloth. • Never use solvent-based cleaning fluids, such as thinner or benzine, commercially available cleaners, or antistatic sprays intended for vinyl records, because they may damage the disc. IR signal check • If the remote control is not working properly, you can use a digital camera (including a cellular phone with built-in camera) to see if it is sending out an infrared signal. With a digital camera (including built-in cell phone cameras): Point a digital camera towards the remote control. Push any button on the remote control and look through the digital camera. If the infrared light appears through the camera, the remote control is working. EN 5
