Automatic Dialing Storing names and telephone numbers into JOG DIAL! For rapid access to frequently dialed numbers, the unit provides a JOG DIAL directory (100 entries). 1 Press DE. / Display: PRESS STATION / OR USE JOG-DIAL 2 Rotate n until the following is displayed. NAME= 3 Enter the name, up to 10 characters (see page 17 for instructions). Example: NAME=Alice 4 Press w. NO.= FLASH (Hyphen) JOG DIAL SET DIRECTORY PROGRAM STOP (Delete) 5 Enter the telephone number, up to 30 digits, using the dial keypad. Example: NO.=5552233 q If you want to enter a hyphen, press k (Hyphen). 6 Press w. REGISTERED ! NAME= q To program other entries, repeat steps 3 to 6. 7 Press DE to exit the program. Note: q When the following is displayed in step 6, you can store only 5 more entries. Display: SPACE= 5 DIRS. q If there is no space to store new entries, the following is displayed in step 1. JOG-DIAL FULL Erase unnecessary entries (p. 22). q A hyphen or a space entered in a telephone number counts as two digits. Helpful hint: q For your convenience, HELP-FAX (1-800-435-7329) has been pre-programmed. If you cannot solve a problem after trying the help function (p. 8), call using this entry (p. 23). If unnecessary, you can erase it (p. 22). q You can confirm the stored entries on the display (p. 23) or on the telephone number list (p. 71). To correct a mistake q Press ) or ( to move the cursor to the incorrect character/number, and then make the correction. To delete a character/number q Move the cursor to the character/number you want to delete, and press { (Delete). 21
