Error Messages Reports! If your unit cannot send a fax, check the following: - the number you dialed is correct, - the other party's machine is a facsimile. If the problem remains, correct it by following the communication message printed on the sending and journal reports (p. 29). COMMUNICATION ERROR (CODE: 40-42, 46-52, 58, 65, 68, 72, FF) q A transmission or reception error occurred. Try again or check with the other party. NO DOCUMENT q The document was not fed into the unit properly. Reinsert the document and try again. COMMUNICATION ERROR (CODE: 43, 44) q A line problem occurred. Connect the telephone line cord to a different jack and try again. q An overseas transmission error occurred. Try using the overseas mode of feature #23 (p. 54). DOCUMENT JAMMED q The document is jammed. Remove the jammed document (p. 68). ERROR-NOT YOUR UNIT (CODE: 54, 59, 70) q A transmission or reception error occurred because of a problem with the other party's fax machine. Check with the other party. MEMORY FULL q The document was not received due to the memory being full. OTHER FAX NOT RESPONDING q The other party's fax machine is busy or has run out of recording paper. Try again. q The document was not fed properly. Reinsert the document and try again. q The other party's fax machine rings too many times. Send the fax manually (p. 28). q The other party's machine is not a facsimile. Check with the other party. q The number you dialed is not in service. PRESSED THE STOP KEY q { was pressed and fax communication was canceled. THE COVER WAS OPENED q The front cover was opened. Close it and try again. OK q Fax communication was successful.
