Symptom The "Thermal error" indication is displayed on the main monitor. The clock of the recorder may keep bad time. The HDD indicator is being lit red/blinking red. Cannot copy data on the SD memory card. Image data saved on the SD memory card cannot be searched or played back. Cause/solution Ref. pages • Check if the fan is malfunctioning. • Check if the the ventilation openings or the cooling fan of the recorder is blocked, and also check for dust collected around the ventilation openings. • The ambient operating temperature is +5 °C to +45 °C {41 °F to 113 °F}. The "Thermal error" is displayed based on the internal thermal information of the HDD. If the "Thermal error" indication is displayed, it is recommended to change the installation environment so that the ambient temperature is maintained at approx. +25 °C {77 °F}. When the "Thermal error" indication is displayed frequently, contact your dealer. • The clock function of the recorder is accurate within ±30 seconds per month. To keep the correct recording, set the time periodically, or enable the auto time adjustment function on the rear panel terminal, or configure the system using the NTP function so as to keep the correct current time. • Has the built-in battery sufficiently been charged? Charge the built-in backup battery by turning on the power for 48 hours or more. • Is the built-in backup battery depleted? The built-in battery life is around 5 years as an indication of replacement. (Lifetime may be shortened depending on the use environment.) • The hard disk drive is faulty. Contact your dealer. 18 17, 18 15 - 15 15 18 • Is a recommended SD memory card used? • Some SD memory cards cannot be used with this recorder. It is recommended to use Panasonic's SD memory card. • Is the SD memory card formatted? • Are data copied to the SD memory card? 46 Operating Instructions Inspect the power cord, power plug and connectors periodically. Symptom The power cord insulation is damaged. The power cord, plug and connectors get hot during use. The power cord gets hot when bent or stretched. Cause/solution • The power cord, connector, or power plug is damaged. This may result in electric shock or a fire. Unplug the power plug from the AC outlet immediately, and refer to qualified service personnel. Ref. pages − 45
