Windows 7 / Vista(SP2) Symptom 1 The communication between the modem and the computer stops. Additionally, a yellow exclamation mark (!) appears next to the device name in Device Manager. Resolution Consider the following scenario: • You have a computer that is running Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008. • You attach a USB Remote Network Driver Interface Specification (RNDIS) device to the computer through an external USB hub. • You remove the modem from the USB hub and then reattach.
