Setting the Shooting Functions 1 E a b c R d F G D C 4 Selecting the Focus Mode Taking Pictures Focus Modes (No icon) Autofocus The camera focuses on the subject in the focusing area when the shutter release button is pressed halfway. Use this mode when the distance to the subject is more than 60 cm (2 ft.). q Macro mode This mode is used when the distance to the subject is approx. 15 cm to 65 cm (6 in. to 2.1 ft.). The camera focuses on the subject in the focusing area when the shutter release button is pressed halfway. This can be set together with 1. r Super Macro mode This mode is used when the distance to the subject is approx. 2 cm to 65 cm (0.8 in. to 2.1 ft.). The camera focuses on the subject in the focusing area when the shutter release button is pressed halfway. This can be set together with 1. s Infinity-Landscape This mode is used for taking distant objects. The flash is mode set to a (flash off). z Manual Focus mode This mode lets you adjust the focus manually. 1 Focusing Area mode This mode changes the position of the focusing area. You can select from 11 positions. This can be set together with q, r. 1 Press the ) button in Capture mode. The focus mode changes each time the button is pressed and the icon appears on the LCD monitor. The camera is ready to take pictures in the selected focus mode. 84
