Basic still image shooting - Using auto mode Holding the camera correctly Mode switch When shooting pictures with the camera, be careful so that your fingers do not block the lens portion, finder window, flash emitter, or AF illuminator (page 8). 1 , Set the mode switch to , and turn on the camera. • The lens cover opens when the power is turned on. • You can create a new folder in the "Memory Stick" and select the folder for storing images (page 47). 2 , Hold the camera steadily with both hands and position a subject in the center of the focus frame. • The camera is equipped with the auto macro AF function. The minimum focal distance to a subject is 10 cm (4 inches). • The frame indicated on the LCD screen shows the focus adjustment range. (AF range finder, see page 49.) 24
