Selecting the stereo/ monaural (L/R) sound With multiplex CDs or VIDEO CDs, you can select the sound from the right or left channel and listen to the sound of the selected channel through both the right and left speakers. In this case, the sound loses the stereo effect. For example, with a disc containing a song, the right channel may output the vocals and the left channel may output the instrumental. Each time you press the button, the selection changes as follows: t STEREO : The standard stereo sound r 1/L : The sound of the left channel (monaural) r 2/R : The sound of the right channel (monaural) Once an item has been set, the audio output is changed according to the setting made. Tip You can change the language using the control menu as follows: 1 Press DVD DISPLAY when the function is DVD. The control menu appears on the TV screen. 2 Select "AUDIO" using V or v, then press ENTER. 3 Select the language using V or v, then press ENTER. The sound in the selected mode starts. Note While playing the CD/VIDEO CD, the standard stereo playback will be resumed when: - you open or close the disc tray - you turn the power off - you select a sound effect in the "VIRTUAL 3D SURROUND" menu (see page 36). 52
