OPERATIONAL FUNCTION [Operational]: Operation settings Description of settings MAX SRCH SPEED [> Max SRCH]: Specify the maximum tape speed in search (shuttle) mode and F.FWD (fast forward)/ REW (rewind) mode. SHUTTLE DV [>> SHUTL DV]: Specity the maximum speed in search mode during DV/ DVCAM format playback. SHUTTLE HDV [>> SHUTL HDV]: Specity the maximum speed in search mode during HDV format playback. ×60 [>>> ×60]: Maximum 60 times normal speed *×32 [>>> ×32]: Maximum 32 times normal speed ×16 [>>> ×16]: Maximum 16 times normal speed *×24 [>>> ×24]: Maximum 24 times normal speed ×8 [>>> ×8]: Maximum 8 times normal speed F. FWD/REW [>> F. FWD/ REW]: Specify the maximum tape speed in F. FWD/REW mode. When ×85, ×60, or ×32 selected: Tape transport speed is ×24. PREROLL TIME [> Preroll]: Set the preroll time. 15 SEC [>>> 15 sec] to 0 SEC [>>> 0 sec]: The preroll time can be set in one-second increments in the range from 0 to 15 seconds. Factory default setting: *5 SEC [>>> 5 sec] A preroll time of at least 5 seconds is recommended when using this unit for editing. When an editing control unit such as the PVE-500 is connected, this setting is disabled and the setting on the editing control unit is in effect. Operations such as preroll time setting and time data switching operation are also performed on the editing control unit. AFTER CUE-UP [> After CUE]: Select the operating mode *STOP [>> STOP]: Stop mode after cue-up. STILL [>> STILL]: Output freeze pictures in search mode. PLAY START [> PLAY start]: Set the timing for switching from stop mode to playback mode. In an editing system including an editing control unit such as the PVE-500, you can adjust this setting so that the delay before switching to playback mode is the same on all the decks of the editing system. It is then no longer necessary to synchronize the decks for editing, and the preroll time can be shortened. 16 FRAME DELAY [>>> 16 delay] to 4 FRAME DELAY [>>> 4 delay]: The larger the numerical value, the longer the delay. Factory default setting: *5 FRAME DELAY [>>> 5 delay] (when set to 60i) or 4 FRAME DELAY [>>> 4 delay] (when set to 50i) AUTO REW [> Auto REW]: Select whether to rewind the tape DISABLE [>> DISABLE]: Do not rewind the tape automatically when recording or playback reaches the automatically. end of a tape. *ENABLE [>> ENABLE]: Rewind the tape automatically.
