You cannot create a playlist using the Walkman. Create a playlist on a computer and transfer it to the Walkman.
Windows:
Create a playlist using Media Go and transfer it to the Walkman.
Create a playlist using iTunes. Import the playlist and transfer it to the Walkman using Media Go.
Mac:
Create a playlist using iTunes and transfer it to the Walkman using Content Transfer.
