Remote commands in Media Center The remote control has four types of buttons:  Navigation. Use the arrow buttons to move between items on the screen.  Transport controls. Use the transport controls to control your media (for example, the PAUSE button or the STOP button).  Audio-visual (AV) and power. Use these buttons to change channels and adjust the volume.  Numeric keypad. Use to enter alphanumeric characters into the search field much as you would enter a message or address in a messaging device.
