About the remote sensor The remote sensor is the device that receives infrared (IR) signals from the remote. Depending on the type of your computer, the remote sensor could be a small peripheral device that plugs into your computer or a device that is built into your computer or monitor. To find out what type of remote sensor you have, refer to your hardware documentation. Remote sensors receive IR signals best under the following conditions:  The remote must be used within 10 feet of the remote sensor.  A direct, unobstructed line of sight must be between the remote and the remote sensor.  No direct natural lighting or no direct artificial lighting must be shining on the remote sensor. © 2000-2003 Microsoft C orporation.
