n 188 N Troubleshooting Internet What should I do if my modem does not work? ❑ Make sure the telephone cable is securely plugged into the modem port on your computer and the wall jack. ❑ Make sure the telephone cable is working. Plug the cable into an ordinary telephone and listen for a dial tone. ❑ Make sure the telephone number the program is dialing is correct. ❑ Make sure the software you are using is compatible with your computer's modem.
