n 90 N Using Your VAIO Computer Communicating without an Access Point (Ad-hoc) An ad-hoc network is a network in which a local network is created only by the wireless devices themselves, with no other central controller or access point. Each device communicates directly with other devices in the network. You can set up an ad-hoc network easily at home. ❑ If the Wireless connection is initiated by the VAIO computer, channel 11 will be selected. ❑ If the Wireless connection is initiated by peer Wireless LAN equipment, the Wireless LAN communication will make use of the channel selected by the peer Wireless LAN equipment.
