Make sure you have a firm footing - check that the chain is not touching any object or the ground. N Hold the saw firmly with your right hand on the top handle. N Rest your right knee on the carburetor box cover. Cranking N Press the fuel pump bulb at least nine times - even if the bulb is already filled with fuel. N Pull the starter grip slowly with your right hand until you feel it engage - and then give it a brisk strong pull and push down the control handle at the same time. Do not pull out the starter rope to full length - it might otherwise break. Do not let the 28 N Push the hand guard (1) forward - the chain is locked. N Press down the trigger lockout (2) and pull the throttle trigger (3) at the same time. Set Master Control lever (4) to starting throttle position (n). N Set choke lever to required position. Holding the Saw
N
Place your saw on the ground.
Make sure you have a firm footing –
check that the chain is not touching
any object or the ground.

Hold the saw firmly with your right
hand on the top handle.
N
Rest your right knee on the
carburetor box cover.
Cranking
N
Pull the starter grip slowly with your
right hand until you feel it engage –
and then give it a brisk strong pull
and push down the control handle at
the same time. Do not pull out the
starter rope to full length –
it might
otherwise break
. Do not let the
starter grip snap back. Guide it
slowly back into the housing so that
the starter rope can rewind properly.
Starting the saw

Press the fuel pump bulb at least
nine times – even if the bulb is
already filled with fuel.

Push the hand guard (1) forward –
the chain is locked.
N
Press down the trigger lockout (2)
and pull the throttle trigger
(3) at the
same time. Set Master Control
lever (4) to starting throttle
position (
n
).
N
Set choke lever to required position.
Choke shutter closed (
l
)
–
If the engine is cold (also use this
position if the engine stopped when
you opened the throttle after
starting)
