English WARNING The bits of spring might still be under tension and could fly apart when you take them out of the housing. To reduce the risk of injury, wear face protection and work gloves. N Carefully remove the parts of the spring. N Lubricate the new spring with a few drops of non-resinous oil. N Place the new spring with frame in position in the fan housing - the anchor loop must engage the lug in the housing. N Apply suitable tools (screwdriver, punch, etc.) to the recesses and push the spring into its seat in the fan housing - it slips out of the frame in this process. N Take the frame out of the fan housing. Storing the Machine For periods of 3 months or longer N Drain and clean the fuel tank in a well ventilated area. N Dispose of fuel properly in accordance with local environmental requirements. N Run the engine until the carburetor is dry - this helps prevent the carburetor diaphragms sticking together. N Remove the saw chain and guide bar, clean them and spray with corrosion inhibiting oil. N Thoroughly clean the machine - pay special attention to the cylinder fins and air filter. N If you use a biological chain and bar lubricant, e.g. STIHL BioPlus, completely fill the chain oil tank. N Store the machine in a dry, high or locked location, out of the reach of children and other unauthorized persons. Checking and Replacing the Chain Sprocket N Remove the chain sprocket cover, chain and guide bar. N Disengage the chain brake: Pull the hand guard toward the front handle. Replace the chain sprocket 2011BA039 KN 2011BA045 KN N Secure spring with screw. N Refit the rope rope, tension the rewind spring and fit the fan housing on the engine housing. - after using two saw chains or sooner - if the wear marks (arrows) on the sprocket are deeper than about 0.02 in (0.5 mm) since this would reduce the life of the chain. You can use a gauge (special accessory) to check the depth of the wear marks. It is best to use two saw chains in rotation with one sprocket. 38 MS 150 TC
