Appendix A. Password Recovery This chapter introduces the procedure to reset passwords on TP-LINK switches. Steps to reset the password: 1. For Security reasons, the Password Recovery feature requires the user to physically access the switch. Please attach a terminal or PC with terminal emulation program to the RJ-45/Micro-USB console port of the switch. 2. Configure the terminal or the terminal emulation program to use the following settings: • Baud rate: 38400 bps • Data bits: 8 • Parity: none • Stop bits: 1 • Flow control: none 3. Power on the switch. After the message 'Hit any key to stop autoboot' is shown on the interface of the terminal emulation program, the switch will allows 3 seconds for the user to press any key to enter the BOOTUTIL Interface. 4. Enter 6 to select the 'Password recovery' option and enter Y to delete all the users and passwords. The default login username and password are both admin. The other configurations in the switch will not be changed. 349
