Verify that the My Book Duo drive that you did not replace reappears in your computer's file management utility listing. b. The listing for the new/replacement drive does not appear because you have to format it using WD Drive Utilities RAID Management Configuration function (see "Changing the Device Configuration" on page 61). c. When the erase/reformat operation completes, verify that the file management utility listing for the replacement drive reappears. Your replacement drive is ready to use. 19. Go to http://support.wd.com and see Knowledge Base answer ID: 7 for information about downloading and restoring the WD software and disk image 8644 for information about returning the defective drive. 20. If you removed your password before replacing the drive, use the WD Security software to re-create it. (See "Password Protecting the Device" on page 47.) REPLACING A DRIVE - 80
