56 3 System upgrades Mirroring mode • For mirroring mode, the memory contains a primary image and a copy of the primary image. Therefore, the effective size of the memory is reduced by at least one-half. • Channel 3 has no function and cannot be populated under this mode. • Follow the population rules described in independent mode. • DIMM modules installed in channels 1 and 2 must be identical - memory modules in slots 1A and 2A should be the same type, size and manufacturer. The same applies to slots 1B and 2B, 1C and 2C. However, it is not necessary for slot A to have the same memory module as slot B or C within a channel. • The same rule applies to the processor 2. For mirroring mode, the memory contains a primary image and a
