The Music Center Control Panel and Functions The Lifestyle"M music center's controls for the most part duplicate those found on the remote control. Generally, you will find the remote control to be the most convenient means of control for the system(see "The Remote Control" section). The Music Center controls may be used as an alternative when the remote control is not nearby. Some controls are located beneath the Music Centers lid seeFig.9). ZONE: Selects a zone for Music Center control and • display. The system normally switches on to Zone 1 when any key is pressed. The ZONE key switches Music Center control and display to Zone 2 for approximately 15 seconds: both then revert to Zone 1. To gain Zone 2 control and display again, simply press the ZONE key once again. Functions and commands issued for one zone have no effect on a source playing in the alternate zone. If the Lifestyle music center is initially turned on by Zone 2 commands from the remote control, Music Center controland display will bothremainin Zone 2mode without switching. However, when Zone 1is called into action(for use of the same source or another), Music Center controland display willrevert to the Zone 1 mode. 2. TUNER A/ TUNER V : Preset Mode. In presetmode, youmay select the next preset radio station, up or down in sequence, from those that have been preprogrammed. (These keys will skip to the next preprogrammed station.) Far example: ifpresets numbered 1, 5, and 12ontyhavalk been programmed, pressing the key repeatedly will novelle, in sequence 1. 5, 12, 1, 5, 12, 1, etc. Manual Tuning. Manual mode is used primarily to program the preset locations. Whenheld down for a few seconds, the TUNER A/ V keys automatically search for thenext station withusable signal strength. Note: Inmanualmode, the TUNERA /V keyson120V modelsmake 100kHz(0.1MHz)steps upordown the FM band, or 101(HzstepsupordawmtheAMband. On220240Vmodels, The TUNERA/vkeysmake50kHz605 MHz)stepsup ordown theFMband, or9kHzsteps upon down theAMband. Note: The tuner isin manualmode whenPRESETdisappears from the display. To switch the tuner from FM to AM or the reverse, press the TUNER A/ V keys simultaneously. When selecting presets from the remote control, band switching is automatic. •
