Compact Disc Player Operation Playing a Compact Disc (CD) The digital compact disc has revolutionized high fidelity listening.CD'swill provide the best reproductionand thegreatest convenience available from theLffestyle1M musk center.Remember, theCDplayer canonlybe controlled. programmed. or stopped by the zone with CD priority. (See the"Two Zone Operation' section.) Loada compact disc by opening themainunit(release the latchonits center frontedge)andplacing thedisc gently over the spindle, label sideup. Three-inch, -CDT miniature discs are loaded in the same fashion. Note:Noharm willcanefromplacinga discupsidedown. However. it willnotplay. andthe "NoDisc"icon(0) willappear on thedisplay window. Alwayshandlediscsbytheiredges only, toavoidleaving fingerprintson the data surface. Store CD'sin theircases, verticallyandaway fromheatordirect sunlight. Close the lidby pressing down gentlyuntil thelatch clicks(the CD player willnot operate with thelid open). CD playback can be started by either the remote control or the Music Center control panel. To start from the Music Center. press PLAY/PAUSE bill once to begin disc playback. The display in theMusicCenter willindicate the total number of tracks and total amount of time for the CD and will begin the playback. PressingPLAY/PAUSE PHI willalternately play. pause, and resume the playback. All other CD functions and programmingmustbe performedusing theremote control. Note:IftheMusic Centeris alreadyin theCDrnode, thedisc willbegin toplayautomatically when thelidiscased. 21 CDPlayUsing the RemoteControl ToPlay: Press theremote contra's CDkey.(SeeFig. 15.) a
compact
disc
by

placing

disc

No
harm
will
cane
from
placing
a
disc
upside
down.
However.
it
will
not
play.

Disc"

Store
CD's
in
their
cases,
