Compact Disc Player Operation Playing a Compact Disc (CD) The digital compact disc has revolutionized high fidelity listening.CD'swill provide the best reproductionand thegreatest convenience available from theLffestyle1M musk center.Remember, theCDplayer canonlybe controlled. programmed. or stopped by the zone with CD priority. (See the"Two Zone Operation' section.) Loada compact disc by opening themainunit(release the latchonits center frontedge)andplacing thedisc gently over the spindle, label sideup. Three-inch, -CDT miniature discs are loaded in the same fashion. Note:Noharm willcanefromplacinga discupsidedown. However. it willnotplay. andthe "NoDisc"icon(0) willappear on thedisplay window. Alwayshandlediscsbytheiredges only, toavoidleaving fingerprintson the data surface. Store CD'sin theircases, verticallyandaway fromheatordirect sunlight. Close the lidby pressing down gentlyuntil thelatch clicks(the CD player willnot operate with thelid open). CD playback can be started by either the remote control or the Music Center control panel. To start from the Music Center. press PLAY/PAUSE bill once to begin disc playback. The display in theMusicCenter willindicate the total number of tracks and total amount of time for the CD and will begin the playback. PressingPLAY/PAUSE PHI willalternately play. pause, and resume the playback. All other CD functions and programmingmustbe performedusing theremote control. Note:IftheMusic Centeris alreadyin theCDrnode, thedisc willbegin toplayautomatically when thelidiscased. 21 CDPlayUsing the RemoteControl ToPlay: Press theremote contra's CDkey.(SeeFig. 15.) Disc playback will begin directly. The display shows Track 01 and Track Vs elapsedplaying timeinminutesand seconds. A play icon p. on the display indicates that the disc is playing. To Pause:Press thePLAY/PAUSE PHI key again.Disc • playback is suspended, and the play icon on the display window changes to a pause icon(II).Subsequent pressesof the PLAY/ PAUSE key will alternate back and forth between playand pausemodes. ForDirect Track Access:Press thenumerickeys)for the CD track number you wish tohear, thenpress thePLAY/ PAUSE key. The CD player willmove automatically to that track. Note:Twodigitsmustbeenteredfortracksnumbered 70 andup. Pressingeither 1. Load
a
compact
disc
by
opening
the
main
unit
(release
the
latch
on
its
center
front
edge)
and
placing
the
disc
gently
over
the
spindle,
label
side
up.
Three-inch,
-
CDT
miniature
discs
are
loaded
in
the
same
fashion.
Note:
No
harm
will
cane
from
placing
a
disc
upside
down.
However.
it
will
not
play.
and
the
"No
Disc"
icon
(0)
will
appear
on
the
display
window.
Always
handle
discs
by
theiredges
only,
to
avoid
leaving
fingerprintson
the
data
surface.
Store
CD's
in
their
cases,
verticallyand
away
from
heat
or
direct
sunlight.
Close
the
lid
by
pressing
down
gently
until
the
latch
clicks
(the
CD
player
will
not
operate
with
the
lid
open).
CD
playback
can
be
started
by
either
the
remote
control
or
the
Music
Center
control
panel.
To
start
from
the
Music
Center.
press
PLAY/PAUSE
bill

The
dis-
play
in
the
Music
Center
will

the
