PROBLEM POSSIBLE SOLUTION System does not function at all Make sure power cordis pluggedintoan operating AC walloutlet and the power switch(on the 22O-240V model)is on.Be sure to select a source (CD, tuner, etc.). No sound Make sure the correct zone has been selected. Check the speaker connections (refer toyour speaker owner'smanual). Be sure you have placed a CD properly in the Music Center and the cover is closed. Try increasing the volume. Disconnect headphone. Connect FM and AM antennas. Remote control Check batteries and their polarity (LED •doesnot function indicator should lightMien any key is pressed). Operate the remote control closer to the Music Center. Check the HouseDYIP switchpositions. They shouldbe identicalon theremotecontrol and the Music Center. Check zone switch position. Remote control operation is not consistent Check the batteries. Remotecontrolmay be toofar from the MusicCenter.Make sure correct zone has been selected. CD does not play Make sure the theMusicCenter isclosed properlyandisinplaymode. The CD maybe missing or defective. After pressing the CD key, wait a few seconds before pressing the PLAY key. There may be dirt or dust on the laser pickupor CO the CD. Tuner does not receive signals Make sure antenna is corrected properly. Adjust antenna orientation toimprove reception. Youmay beinanarea of weak signal coverage. FM soundIs distorted Adjust antenna orientation to reduce multipath interference. Sound is distorted Make sure speaker cable has not been damaged. Clean the CD player lens carefully, only if necessary, as follows: If thelens is dusty, blow the dust awayusingacoldblower or camera lensbrush. If a fingerprint is on the lens, wipe it gently with a lens tissue moistened withlens cleaning solution. Theseitemsare available from your local camera store dealer. • Applya very smallamount of thelenscleaning solution. Make sure that no lens cleaning solution enters the unit it may causedamage. • Do Not apply excessive pressure on the lens. which could be damaged. 26

blow

dust
away
using
a
cold
blower
or
camera
lens
brush.
If
a
fingerprint
is
on
the
lens,
wipe
it
gently
with
a
lens
tissue
moistened
with
lens
cleaning
solution.
These
items
are

from
your
local
camera
store
dealer.
Apply
a
very
small
amount
of
the
lens
cleaning
solution.
Make
