However, the switches inside the remote battery case may be changed as needed, too. Additional remotes for use in other rooms may need their switches changed, too. For that, refer to "Bose® link remote switch settings" on page 53. Replacing the remote control batteries Replace all four batteries when the remote control stops operating or its range seems reduced. Alkaline batteries are recommended. 1. Slide open the battery compartment on the back of the remote (Figure 23). 2. Insert four AAA or IEC-LR3 1.5V batteries, or the equivalent, as shown. Match the + and - symbols on the batteries with the + and - markings inside the compartment. 3. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place. If another LIFESTYLE® system nearby creates a conflict with your system, you can easily set a new house code in your media center and its remote control(s) with steps that follow. Using the remote control: 1. Open the remote control battery cover and locate the miniature switches (Figure 24 on page 52). 2. Move one or more of switches 1, 2, 3, or 4 in the opposite direction from its current setting. Use a paper clip, ball point pen, or similar object. Note: DO NOT change any other switch settings. Moving other switches may disable your remote control. 3. Replace the battery cover. 51

1.

Changing house code settings
Each LIFESTYLE
®
remote control uses a house code that corresponds to the house code set
in the media center, enabling the two to communicate. If another LIFESTYLE
®
system nearby
creates a conflict with your system, you can easily set a new house code in your media center
and its remote control(s) with steps that follow.
Using the remote control:
1.
Open the remote control battery cover and locate the miniature switches (Figure 24 on
page 52).
2.
Move one or more of switches 1, 2, 3, or 4 in the opposite direction from its current
setting. Use a paper clip, ball point pen, or similar object.
Note:
DO NOT change any other switch settings. Moving other switches may disable your
remote control.
3.
Replace the battery cover.
