1 General setup 1 IMPORTANT NOTE  Most of the illustrations in this User's Guide show the MFC-J470DW. 1 1 Memory Storage 1 Your menu settings are stored permanently, and, in the event of a power failure, will not be lost. Temporary settings (for example, Overseas Mode) will be lost. If you have chosen Set New Default for your preferred FAX 1 and COPY settings, those settings will not be lost. However, you may have to reset the date and time. 1 MFC models only Volume Settings (MFC models) 1 Ring Volume 1 You can choose a range of ring volume levels, from High to Off. The machine will keep your new default setting until you change it. While the machine is idle, press d or c to adjust the volume level. The LCD shows the current setting, and each key press will change the volume to the next level. You can also change the volume through the menu by following the instructions below: Setting the Ring Volume from the menu 1 a Press Menu. b Press a or b to choose General Setup. Press OK. c Press a or b to choose Volume. Press OK. d Press a or b to choose Ring. Press OK. e Press a or b to choose Low, Med, High or Off. Press OK. f Press Stop/Exit. 1
