LOWER THREADING f Insert the tab bobbin cover in the lower-left corner of (1), and then lightly press the c Press the "Needle the needle. Getting Ready g Press buttons. to unlock all keys and Pulling Up the Bobbin Thread There may be some sewing applications where you want to pull up the bobbin thread; for example, when making gathers, darts, or doing free motion quilting or embroidery. Memo • You can pull up the bobbin thread after threading the upper thread ("UPPER THREADING" on page B-46). a Guide the bobbin groove, following thread through the the arrow in the illustration. * Do not cut the thread with the cutter. * Do not replace the bobbin cover. f Pull up the bobbin thread, pass presser foot and pull it about it under the 100 mm (approx. 4 inches) toward the back of the machine, making it even with the upper thread. b While holding the "Needle Position" upper thread, press the button to lower the needle. a Upper thread b Bobbin thread g Replace the bobbin cover. h Press buttons. to unlock all keys and a "Needle Position" button Basic operations B-45
