Computer Setup Continued Heading Option Description Advanced* (continued) ISA PnP Devices • Lists current settings of Plug and Play (PnP) devices. • Enables or disables PnP devices. • Allows you to change the configuration of PnP devices. Note: Option will not appear if there are no PnP devices currently installed. Bus Options Allows you to set: • PCI bus mastering, which allows a PCI device to take control of the PCI bus (enable/disable) • PCI reset on warm boot, which asserts the PCI signal RST# during a warm reboot (enable/disable) • PCI VGA palette snooping, which sets the VGA palette snooping bit in PCI configuration space; this is only needed with more than one graphics controller installed (enable/disable) • ISA back-to-back I/O delay: Fast allows I/O transactions on the ISA bus to immediately follow each other (fast/legacy) • Bus priority: PCI gives more access to the PCI bus; ISA gives more access to the ISA bus (ISA/PCI) • I5-MB memory hole: enable won't allow the memory decoder to decode addresses between 15MB and 16MB; disable allows the memory decoder to use the 15MB to 16MB range for normal memory use (enable/disable) * These options should be used by advanced users only.
