Sliding Out the System Board Tray The slide-out system board tray allows you to quickly remove the system board, without using tools. ! WARNING: Before removing the computer cover, ensure that the computer is turned off and that the power cord is disconnected from the electrical outlet. 1. If you have locked the Smart Cover Lock, use Computer Setup to unlock the lock and disable the Smart Cover Sensor. 2. Shut down the operating system properly, then turn off the computer and any external devices. 3. Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet. 4. Remove the computer cover. 5. Raise the expansion card cage into service position 2. You do not need to remove the cage from the chassis. 6. Grasp the back edge of the system board tray and slide it straight out of the chassis. Sliding Out the System Board Tray
The slide-out system board tray allows you to quickly remove
the system board, without using tools.

WARNING:
Before removing the computer cover, ensure that the
computer is turned off and that the power cord is disconnected
from the electrical outlet.
1. If you have locked the Smart Cover Lock, use Computer
Setup to unlock the lock and disable the Smart Cover
Sensor.
2. Shut down the operating system properly, then turn off the
computer and any external devices.
3. Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.
4. Remove the computer cover.
5. Raise the expansion card cage into service position 2. You
do not need to remove the cage from the chassis.
6.
Grasp the back edge of the system board tray and slide it
straight out of the chassis.
