DSS provides critical updates for your operating system and support for processors, optical drives, USB devices, and so on. DSS is necessary for correct operation of your Dell computer. The software automatically detects your computer and operating system and installs the updates appropriate for your configuration. To download Desktop System Software: 1 Go to support.dell.com and click Drivers & Downloads. 2 Enter your Service Tag or Product Type and Product Model, and click Go. 3 Scroll to System and Configuration Utilities→ Dell Notebook System Software and click Download Now. 4 Select Drivers & Downloads and click Go.
