Step 5. Upgrading controller software to XCS 09534000 Estimated time to complete: 25-30 minutes CAUTION: • Stop all storage modification jobs (such as creation, deletion, presentation) 30 minutes before beginning the controller software upgrade. • Before upgrading the controller software, ensure that the storage system configuration is stable and is not being changed in any way. If any configuration changes are in progress, monitor them using HP Command View EVA and wait until they are completed before proceeding with the upgrade. • The XCS 09534000 controller software image contains an update to the System Data Collector, which is updated infrequently. If you perform the upgrade on an EVA6400/8400 during heavy I/O load, the upgrade process may exceed the expected upgrade interval. This may result in an error message displaying that the upgrade has failed. However, all host I/O to the array is unaffected and the upgrade should complete as expected. Upgrading controller software 1. Open HP Command View EVA in your browser. 2. In the Storage Systems navigation pane, select the storage system you want to upgrade. The properties window for the selected storage system opens. 3. Click System Options. 4. Click Code load system. The Code Load Selection window opens.
