5. Remove the connector assembly and cables (5) from the computer. To install the WLAN antennas and external connectors, reverse the removal procedure. System board To remove the system board, use this procedure and illustration. NOTE: All system board spare part kits include replacement thermal material. Before removing the system board, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 18). 2. Remove the access panel (see Access panel on page 19). 3. Rotate the drive cage to the upright position (see Hard drive on page 21). 4. Remove the front bezel (see Front bezel on page 26). 5. Remove the fan and duct assembly (see Fan and duct assembly on page 28). When you replace the system board, be sure to remove the following components (as applicable) from the defective system board and install them on the replacement system board: ● Solid-state drive (see Solid-state drive on page 19). ● Expansion cards (see Expansion cards on page 22). ● Memory modules (see Memory modules (DIMMs) on page 28). ● Heat sink (see Heat sink on page 31). ● Processor (see Processor on page 32). ● WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 38). ● Rear expansion card (see Rear expansion card on page 40).
