Removal and Replacement Procedures Access Panel WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury from hot surfaces, allow the drives and the internal system components to cool before touching them. CAUTION: Do not operate the server for long periods without the access panel. Operating the server without the access panel results in improper airflow and improper cooling that can lead to thermal damage. NOTE: The interior of the access panel contains labels with information about the server system board. To remove the component: 1. Power down the server. Refer to "System Power Down" in this chapter. 2. Remove the front bezel. Refer to "Front Bezel" in this chapter. 3. Remove the access panel: a. Remove the thumbscrew from the front left side of the chassis. b. Slide the access panel forward. c. Pull from the top of the access panel to remove it from the chassis. To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure. To remove the component:
1.
Power down the server. Refer to “System Power Down” in this chapter.
2.
Remove the front bezel. Refer to “Front Bezel” in this chapter.
3.
Remove the access panel:
a.
Remove the thumbscrew from the front left side of the chassis.
b.
Slide the access panel forward.
c.
Pull from the top of the access panel to remove it from the chassis.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
