Removal and Replacement Procedures Battery If the server no longer automatically displays the correct date and time, you may need to replace the battery that provides power to the real-time clock. Always use a battery from the approved spare parts list in Chapter 1, "Illustrated Parts Catalog." WARNING: The system board contains a lithium battery. A risk of fire and chemical burn exists if the battery is improperly handled. Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, or short external contacts, dispose of in water or fire, or expose the battery to temperatures higher than 60°C (140°F). To remove the component: 1. Power down the server. Refer to "System Power Down" in this chapter. 2. Remove the front bezel. Refer to "Front Bezel" in this chapter. 3. Remove the access panel. Refer to "Access Panel" in this chapter. 4. Locate the battery on the system board. Refer to Chapter 4, "Component Identification." NOTE: If you have expansion boards installed, it may be necessary to remove them to gain access to the battery. 5. Remove the battery: a. Press outward on the latch at the top of the battery holder to release the battery. b. Lift the battery away from the holder. For more information about battery replacement or proper disposal, contact an authorized reseller or authorized service provider. Removal and Replacement Procedures
Battery

To remove the component:
1.
