Diagnostic Tools • Multiple drive rebuilding • Special handling of error log, spare drive, and rebuilding After all hard drives have been installed and connected, press the F8 key during startup to run the Integrated ATA RAID Configuration Utility and view the setup screen. ROM will automatically configure drives to RAID 0 if you do not run the F8 utility. To turn off the Integrated ATA RAID Management: • In Microsoft operating systems, right-click on the tray icon and select Quit Spy. • In Novell operating systems, enter Unload Spy at the console. • In Linux operating systems, enter Spy-Stop at the prompt. Turning off this utility turns off the ability for online spares to be rebuilt if a drive failure occurs. You need to power up the server and rebuild the spare in the RAID Configuration Utility by pressing the F8 key.
