TouchPad, Detach the TouchPad cable

TouchPad Description TouchPad (includes cable) Spare part number 740190-001 Before removing the TouchPad, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the tablet and keyboard base. If you are unsure whether the tablet and keyboard base are off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the tablet and keyboard base by unplugging the power cord from the tablet and keyboard base. 3. Disconnect the tablet from the keyboard base. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 61). 5. Remove the keyboard base battery (see Keyboard base battery on page 62). Remove the TouchPad: 1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the TouchPad cable is attached, and then disconnect the TouchPad cable from the docking board. 2. Detach the TouchPad cable (2) from the keyboard/top cover. (The TouchPad cable is attached to the keyboard/top cover with double-sided adhesive.) 3. Remove the two Phillips PM1.85×2.75 broad head screws (3) that secure the TouchPad to the keyboard/top cover. 64 Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures

Before removing the TouchPad, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the tablet and keyboard base. If you are unsure whether the tablet and keyboard base
are off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the tablet and keyboard base by unplugging the power cord from the
tablet and keyboard base.
3.
Disconnect the tablet from the keyboard base.
4.
Remove the bottom cover (see

).
5.
Remove the keyboard base battery (see
Keyboard base battery
on page
62
).
Remove the TouchPad:
1.
Release the ZIF connector
(1)
to which the TouchPad cable is attached, and then disconnect the
TouchPad cable from the docking board.
2.
Detach the TouchPad cable
(2)
from the keyboard/top cover. (The TouchPad cable is attached
to the keyboard/top cover with double-sided adhesive.)
3.
Remove the two Phillips PM1.85×2.75 broad head screws
(3)
that secure the TouchPad to the
keyboard/top cover.
