Removal and Replacement Procedures- Slim Tower (ST) Chassis 2. Install the processor. Ä CAUTION: Before installing a previously used heatsink you must clean the top of the procesor and the bottom of the heatsink with the alcohol pad supplied in the spares kit. After the alcohol has evaporated, apply thermal grease to the top of the processor using the syringe in the spares kit. 3. Attach the heatsink to the system board-standoff assembly with the four caprive screws. Ä CAUTION: Heatsink retaining screws should be tightened in diagonally opposite pairs (as in an X) to evenly seat the heatsink on the processor. This is especially important as the pins on the socket are very fragile and any damage to them may require replacing the system board. 4. Reinstall the system board assembly into the chassis and secure it with the long mounting screw. CAUTION:

bottom of the heatsink with the alcohol pad supplied in the spares kit. After the alcohol has evaporated,
apply thermal grease to the top of the processor using the syringe in the spares kit.
