LED PS 2 CPU VRM CNFG MEM NMI S ERR SP Problem Action The power supply in bay 2 has failed. 1. If all 10 fans are installed, make sure power supply 1 and power supply 2 are installed. 2. Make sure the power supply is correctly seated and the AC power cord is plugged in. 3. If the problem remains, replace the power supply. A microprocessor has failed, is missing, or has been incorrectly installed. Note: (Trained service technician only) Make sure that the microprocessors are installed in the correct sequence; see "Installing an additional microprocessor" on page 19). 1. Check the BMC log or the system-error log to determine the reason for the lit LED. 2. Find the failing, missing, or mismatched microprocessor by checking the LEDs. 3. (Trained service technician) Reseat the failing microprocessor. 4. (Trained service technician) Replace the failing microprocessor. Not Used A hardware configuration error has occurred. 1. When lit in conjunction with the FAN LED, check the fan configuration. 2. When lit in conjunction with the PS1 or PS2 LEDs, check the power supply configuration. 3. When lit in conjunction with the CPU LED, check the microprocessors that were just installed to make sure that they are compatible with each other (see "Installing an additional microprocessor" on page 19 for compatibility requirements). 4. (Trained service technician only) Replace an incompatible microprocessor. 5. Check the system error log for information about the error. Replace any components that are indicated. A memory error has occurred. 1. Replace the failing DIMM, which is indicated by the lit LED on the system board. 2. If no LEDs on the board are lit, check the memory population sequence (DIMMs not installed in pairs). A hardware error has been reported to 1. See the BM log and the system-error log (see "Error logs" the operating system. in the Problem Determination and Service Guide). Note: The PCI or MEM LED might also be lit. 2. If the PCI LED is lit, follow the instructions for that LED. 3. If the MEM LED is lit, follow the instructions for that LED. 4. Restart the server. A PCI slot error has occurred. 1. See the BMC log or the system-error log. 2. Replace the failing adapter. 3. (Trained service technician only) Replace the system board. There is a fault in the Remote Supervisor Adapter II SlimLine. 1. Reseat the Remote Supervisor Adapter II SlimLine. 2. Update the firmware for the Remote Supervisor Adapter II SlimLine (see "Updating the firmware" in the Problem Determination and Service Guide). 3. Replace the Remote Supervisor Adapter II SlimLine.
