Depending on your model type, your computer might have a diskette drive or a card reader installed. The artwork in this section shows how to replace the diskette drive. To replace the card reader, the procedure is almost the same as replacing the diskette drive. To replace the diskette drive or card reader: 1. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 14. 2. Remove the front bezel and drive bay assembly. See "Accessing the system board components and drives" on page 15. 3. Disconnect the signal and power cables from the rear of the diskette drive or card reader. 4. Release the diskette drive or card reader by pressing inward on the blue retainer at the side of the drive. 5. replace

card
reader,

procedure
is
almost

same

replacing

drive.
To
replace

card
reader:
1.
Remove
the
computer
cover.

2.
Remove
the
front
bezel
and
drive
bay
assembly.

3.
Disconnect
the
signal
and
power
cables
from
the
rear
of
the
diskette
drive
or
card
reader.
4.
Release
the
diskette
drive
or
card
reader
by
pressing
inward
on
the
blue
retainer
at
the
side
of
the
drive.
5.
Remove
the
failing
diskette
drive
or
card
reader
by
sliding
it
out
the
front
of
the
drive
bay
assembly.
